Canadian duo at Peterborough Players Theatre Nov. 9

The folk duo Dala will make an appearance at the Peterborough Players Theater Friday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m.

Juno nominees and winners of the 2010 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year, Amanda Walther and Sheila Carabine of Dala have released five albums and toured extensively across North America. Dala has opened for artists such as Richie Havens and Arlo Guthrie.

In 2009, they were the only Canadian act invited to play at the 50th anniversary of the Newport Folk Festival. The song “Horses” from the album “Girls From The North Country” was nominated by National Public Radio as one of the Top Ten folk songs of 2009.

The concert is presented by the Peterborough Folk Music Society. Tickets are $18 in advance and $21 the day of the concert.
