A pine tree was uprooted Monday night in Hurricane Sandy’s strong winds, which caused the tree to fall and land on the roof of a home on Highfield Lane in Dublin.

The homeowner, Nick Silitch, was in New York at the time of the storm and remained out-of-state Tuesday, Fire Chief Thomas Vanderbilt told the Ledger-Transcript on Tuesday.

Vanderbilt assessed the home Tuesday morning and said that there was no damage to its interior, but the copper roofing sustained minor damage in the area where the tree fell.
