Art exhibit on display at Wilton library
The Artist of the Month for January at the Wilton Public & Gregg Free Library is Mary Carroll Moore.
“Gardens and Wilderness — Landscapes and Light” is an exhibit of original paintings by this award-winning artist from Wilton. She began painting in soft pastels in 2001 and has exhibited in the United States, Canada and Europe. Her paintings are in private, corporate and university collections internationally.
Moore paints outdoors in “plein air” or from studio still-life rather than photographs, studying how natural light creates distance, form and color. She especially loves painting the New Hampshire seacoast and mountain areas in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Adirondacks.
