Mascenic’s Boulerice qualifies in breaststroke
Mascenic freshman Briana Boulerice continued her stellar start to her high school swimming career on Friday.
Boulerice won the 50-yard freestyle in 28.08 seconds at Salem High School’s home meet and also finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.77.
Her time in the event was good enough to qualify Boulerice for the Division II Championships. In her first high school meet, Boulerice qualified for the state meet in the 100-yard backstroke.
Tyler Barney placed third in the 100-yard backstroke, while Shawn Thibault was fourth in the 100-breaststroke and eighth in the 100-freestyle.
Sarah Sharp was fifth in the 100-breaststroke and seventh in the 100-freestyle. Kailey Allen took fifth in the 100-free.
Mascenic returns to the pool on Jan. 6 at Conant.
