The Ravens picked up a second straight one-possession win on Saturday, defeating Adelphi 73-71 in overtime.
It was FPU’s sixth consecutive victory overall entering Wednesday’s trip to Assumption.
After suffering their second loss in three games by just three points on Wednesday to New Haven, the Ravens bounced back with a convincing 67-51 victory over Adelphi on Saturday.
Junior Adrianos Vourliotakis Perdikaris finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead FPU in both categories.
Freshman Kara Charette earned her second straight Northeast-10 women’s basketball rookie of the week award on Monday after averaging 17.5 points, four rebounds and two assists in a pair of wins for the Ravens. Charette has now won three of the last four conference rookie of the week awards and four overall.
Freshman Mike Abrams was named the NE-10 men’s track rookie of the week on Monday. Abrams won both the 60 meters in 7.11 seconds and the 200 meters with a time of 22.88 seconds at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday.
The FPU men’s track and field team picked up five wins at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, two each coming from junior Antoine Gisore and freshman Mike Abrams and one by freshman Ryan Dione, while the women’s team posted 11 top-10 finishes.
In conjunction with the men’s and women’s basketball games, the FPU athletic department with host the 4th annual Rocky the Raven Kid’s Day on Saturday.
Children in eight grade or younger will be admitted free and there will be games like Basketball Bingo, free Rocky the Raven tattoos, as well as autographs and pictures with the players.
