Patten wins twice

Conant senior Kory Patten posted a pair of wins at Monadnock on Friday, two of eight victories on the day for the Orioles.

Patten won the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events, both events in which he has qualified for states in. Patten’s time of five minutes and 52.02 seconds in the 500 freestyle was his best of the season.

Sophomore Katie L’Ecuyer grabbed a win in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:21.39 and finished second in the 200-yard individual medley. Senior Calvin Seppala won the 200 IM on the boys side and finished second in the 100 breaststroke.

Senior Kali Mailhot won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:08.56 and took second in the 500 freestyle. Jessica Niquette won the 200 freestyle.

Senior Stephanie Simoneau finished second in two events. She finished the 100-yard backstroke in 1:13.26, less than two seconds away from the Division II Championships qualifying time and was also runner-up in the 100 freestyle.

Conant will host a five-team meet at the Clark Memorial Pool in Winchendon, Mass. on Saturday.
