Letter: Monahons impact was profound

To the editor:

On Saturday, I was at Rick and Duffy Monahon’s memorial gathering. I was wondering what does it take to fill the Peterborough Town House? How do you get so many people to show up for you, to honor and speak on your behalf and stand witness for your memory? It’s not just because you’ve lived here for so many years. It’s something else.

To paraphrase John Wesley, “Do all the good you can, for as long as you can, as best as you can, for as many people as you can.”

That’s how you fill the Town House. That’s who Rick and Duffy were. And will always be for me, wherever I go. Their impact was profound. They didn’t just say it. Or write about it.

They lived it.
