Two petition articles affect zoning in New Ipswich

Amendment 1: An addition to Article 16, section 2, which requires all structures in town have a permit would exempt structures less than 120 square feet, and greenhouses measuring less than 25 feet long from requiring a building permit. Temporary or transportable structures, such as tents or fair booths, would also be exempt. Brought by petition.

Amendment 2: Another proposed amendment would repeal Article 6 of the zoning ordinance, adopted in 2004, which requires new developments pay impact fees. Impact fees are imposed by the town on new or proposed development projects. The fees are used to pay for all or a portion of the cost of providing public services to the development. Brought by petition.
