Letter: Thanks for supporting Bruins Alumni Classic
To the editor:
On Feb. 10, the Crotched Mountain Wild skated against the Boston Bruins Alumni to benefit Crotched Mountain Foundation’s Accessible Recreation and Sports program (CMARS) at the Sullivan Arena at St. Anselm College.
The $25,000 raised will directly support accessible recreational activities for people of all abilities living in this community. Thanks to local Crotched Mountain Wild team members who played a great game and raised funds: Tony Parisi, Tim Hogue, Mark Leger, Reuben Lyons, Harry Payne, Kit Rautio, Jeff Radin, Joshua Sipe, Chris Stroshine, Scott Tucker, Gary McRae, Stan Newsham, Brent Patterson and Parker Wheeler.
Thank you to over 80 local businesses who supported the players as well as corporate sponsors: All Metals Industries, RTM Communications, USI New England and Bank of New Hampshire. Thanks to Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride for providing adaptive snowsports programs in partnership with CMARS. Thank you to linesmen Kim Guay and Andrew Brown of the Keene area for keeping the game honest. Thanks to the Monadnock region fans who cheered on our team and their favorite Bruins legends. Finally, thanks to Keene resident, David Hudjik, who dropped the ceremonial puck.
This community-wide support will provide countless hours of accessible skiing, kayaking, hiking, yoga and other sports in this region.
and Philip Grisafi,
Crotched Mountain Wild
