Button Up NH workshop set for Wednesday at Peterborough library

A free Button Up NH weatherization workshop will be held at the Peterborough Town Library on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Conservation measures to reduce fuel and electricity use, including basic air sealing, insulation techniques, and basic building science concepts will be taught by Ted Stiles, local certified energy auditor.

Participants will also learn how to sign up for the PSNH Home Performance with Energy Star program that provides financial incentives and technical expertise to assist homeowners with buttoning up their homes. Homeowners can receive up to $4,000 in rebates from PSNH, 50% of the cost of energy efficiency upgrades, when they participate in the program to reduce their home’s energy consumption.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the River Center in Peterborough, the Monadnock Energy Resources Initiative (MERI), the Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative (PAREI), and the Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) and is free and open to the public thanks to funding from the Efficiency Training Program (ETP), which receives its funding through the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Fund.
