Talk offered on Harrisville mills in Keene, March 20

An exhibit program entitled “Water and the Mills in Harrisville” will be presented by Chick Colony, president of Harrisville Designs, at the Historical Society of Cheshire County on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Colony’s talk will explore the history of the mills in Harrisville and the economic benefits water has provided.

This program is the third of five presentations on the theme of “Water Power: Past and Present Use in the Monadnock Region.” The series, in association with the current feature exhibit on “The Power of Water: The History of Water Powered Mills in the Monadnock Region,” will demonstrate the importance of water power as an engine for economic growth, community development, and as an energy source.

The presentation is free and open to the public and will take place in the Exhibit Hall.

For more information on the exhibit, visit www.hsccnh.org or call 352-1895.
