Tuesday, March 12

Arrest: At 9:20 p.m., police made a motor vehicle stop on Fitzgerald Road. The driver, Jeremiah Padeni, 21, of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with DWI. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a March 19 court date at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey. Padeni’s passenger, a 17-year-old Jaffrey resident, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with an April 3 court date.

Wednesday, March 13

Accident: At 6:05 p.m., police responded to a two-car crash in the Walmart parking lot. A 17-year-old Rindge resident had reportedly struck a 2002 Dodge Caravan owned by Darlene Tarr, 47, of Hancock, while the vehicle was parked in the Walmart parking lot. There were no reported injuries, and the Dodge Caravan sustained minor damage, according to police.

Thursday, March 14

Accident: At 9 a.m., police responded to Route 202 near Commercial Lane for a two-car crash. William Gilson, 64, of Jaffrey had stopped his 2012 Honda Tucson at a red light at the intersection of Route 202 and Commercial Lane when he was allegedly struck from behind by a 2002 Freightliner, driven by David Wolack, 52, of Salisbury, Mass. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Accident: At 7:15 p.m., police responded to Route 119 near Old New Ipswich Road for a single-car crash. Elizabeth Leblanc, 33, of Rindge was driving a Nissan SUV westbound on Route 119 when a group of deer reportedly ran out in front of her vehicle. Leblanc told police she avoided the first deer, but struck a second when it darted out onto the road. The deer was killed. Leblanc’s car sustained minor damage.

Friday, March 15

Arrest: At 12 a.m., police responded to Route 202 near Commercial Lane for a report of a driver off the road. Paul Scofield, 48, of Rindge was arrested and charged with DWI. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a March 28 court date.

Saturday, March 16

Accident: At 1:50 p.m., police responded to Route 119 near Old Ashburnham Road for a report of a two-car crash. Justin Traniello, 23, of New Ipswich was driving a 2004 Chevy Cavalier east on Route 119 when he began preparing to make a left-hand turn onto East Main Street. Cory Roberts, 25, of Rindge was driving a 2002 Chevy pickup behind Traniello and reportedly attempted to go around Traniello’s vehicle, causing the two cars to collide. There were no reported injuries, and both cars were driven from the scene.

Sunday, March 17

Accident: At 12:44 p.m., police responded to Route 119 near Old New Ipswich Road for a single-car crash. Matthew Somero, 36, of Rindge was driving a 2007 Chevy van west on Route 119 when a deer reportedly ran out in front of the car and struck it. The deer ran into the woods and appeared to be OK, according to police. The car was driven from the scene.
