Letter: Food drive was a success

To the editor:

The Peterborough Food Pantry had another very successful food drive at Shaw’s Market on Saturday, March 23. We collected enough food to stock our shelves to meet a high end of month demand for food — especially just before the Easter holiday. Every time we do this, my heart swells with gratitude for everyone doing their part to help feed our hungry neighbors. Hunger statistics are at an all-time high both nationally and in our local Monadnock region. Your donations stay local and make an immediate difference in the lives of many.

Special thanks to our friends at Shaw’s, The Sunshine Fund, The Fire Department Explorers, and to all of our volunteers who stood out in the cold to collect food. I know this was a feel good day for all of us involved.

Also, a quick note of thanks to our friends at the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, who regularly make their meeting room available to us for our board meetings. It takes a village.
