WLC gets on track with 16-1 win

The Wilton-Lyndeborough softball team posted a 16-1 victory in five innings over Derryfield on Wednesday for the first win of the season.

Senior Deanna Davidson and freshman Sarah Holka combined to no-hit the Cougars, but did allow five walks.

After allowing 19 runs in one inning to Hinsdale in the opener last Monday, the improved pitching performance was a welcomed sight.

The Warriors led 3-0 after the first and then scored nine runs in the fourth.

Junior Sami Bosquet was 2-for-2, while junior Sophie LeVert also had two hits.

The Warriors were 1-1 entering Monday’s contest with Newmarket. Last Friday’s game with Pittsfield was postponed due to weather.

WLC will host Sunapee on Wednesday.
