Accident: At 8:38 a.m., police responded to a single-car crash
on Route 101. Nathaniel Harris, 36, of Harrisville was driving a 2005 Nissan Frontier eastbound on Route 101 when he allegedly struck a patch of black ice and lost control of his vehicle. Harris crossed into the westbound lane and struck a stone wall, which caused the vehicle to roll over, according to police. Harris was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital for minor injuries. The car was towed.
Saturday, April 13
Accident: At 10:16 a.m.,
police responded to a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Route 101 and Route 137. Mary Plumpton, 78, of Marlborough was driving her 2007 Saturn on Route 101 when she attempted to turn onto Route 137, but was struck by an oncoming SUV, according to police. The unidentified driver of the SUV reportedly left the scene after the crash and continued westbound on Route 101. Plumpton was transported to Monandock Community Hospital as a precaution, police said. The accident is under investigation.
