Monday, April 8

Animal complaint: At 6:30 p.m., police received a call reporting a lost dog on Pleasant Street. Police were unable to locate the dog on Pleasant Street, and responded to the calling party’s house. The owner of the dog told police that a friend had found the dog and brought it home.

Wednesday, April 10

Child abuse: At 10:42 a.m., police received a call from a woman who stated that her ex-husband did not enroll their son in school as he had promised. Police placed a call to the father, but were unable to reach him at home. The case will be handled as an open investigation into a child neglect issue and was forwarded to the Division for Children, Youth and Families for evaluation.

Animal complaint: At 11:09 a.m., police received a call from a resident stating that a black dog was loose on Main Street and was almost hit by a car. The owner of the dog, Bernard Rajaniemi, 51, of Antrim, was located and police issued him a summons for multiple dog violations.

Friday, April 12

Motor vehicle accident: At 11:23 a.m., police responded to Clinton Road after receiving a report of a single-car motor vehicle crash. Alexandra Labree, 19, of Antrim, lost control of her car and slid into a telephone pole due to slippery conditions. There was significant damage to the front end of Labree’s vehicle, and she reported some injuries, although none were severe. She was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The vehicle was taken on a flatbed from the scene.

Saturday, April 13

Motor vehicle complaint: At 4:35 p.m., dispatch advised Antrim police that a vehicle with Massachusetts plates was traveling at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles heading south on Route 202 in Antrim. Police stopped the vehicle, while other witnesses pulled over to advise police they would provide written statements of what they had seen. Police spoke to the driver, a 21-year-old Acton, Mass., man, and told him a report would be generated and police would apply for a warrant for his arrest on a charge of reckless driving.
