Conant rolls to 12-0 win, improves to 7-1

The Conant softball team improved to 7-1 overall after a 12-0, five-inning victory over Fall Mountain on Monday.

Senior Kelsey Smith tossed her fourth complete game shutout of the season, striking out 10 and allowing just one hit.

The Orioles led just 5-0 through four innings, but scored seven times in the last of the fifth to enforce the mercy rule.

Sophomore Katie Chadbourne had two hits, including a two-run triple in the fifth.

Senior Teresa DiTommaso was 3-for-3 and sophomore Ivy Chalke connected for a triple.

Conant hosts Hillsboro-Deering on Friday before traveling to face ConVal Monday under the lights at Adams Playground at 7 p.m.
