Wednesday, May 1
Accident: At 1:32 p.m., Harold Horowitz, 67, of Amherst pulled out on Granite Street onto Route 101 and struck a gas truck operated by Keith Taylor, 51, of Nashua. Horowitz’s 1998 Jeep Cherokee received damage to its passenger-side front and rear doors, quarter panel and rocker panel. The Kenworth truck had damage to its front bumper. Both were driven away.
Hit-and-run accident: At 4:20 p.m., Ashley Nichols, 21, of Peterborough reported that her 2011 Volkswagen Jetta has been hit by a tan pickup truck while the Jetta was parked in the Nature’s Green Grocer parking lot. The driver of the truck did not stop. Police opened an investigation.
Assault report: At 7 p.m., a 17-year-old Hancock girl reported she had been assaulted by a juvenile from Antrim at Adams Playground on April 30 and at ConVal High School on May 1.
Thursday, May 2
Disturbance: At 6 a.m., police responded to a report of a fight between a 31-year-old Jaffrey resident and a 38-year-old Dublin resident. Both men were sent on their way.
Accident: At 2:57 p.m., a 2008 Subaru driven by Ralph Shattuck, 80, of Peterborough hit a Ford tractor owned by Stephen Palmer, 62, of Sharon, which was in the roadway on Concord Street. The right side of Shattuck’s car was damaged; it was driven away. The tractor was not damaged.
Friday, May 3
Theft report: At 2:50 p.m., a Jaffrey Road business owner reported an item had been taken from the parking lot overnight.
Accident: At 9:32 p.m., a 1999 Subaru Legacy driven by Andrew Laporte, 39, of Berlin, Mass., hit a deer on Sand Hill Road. The car had minor scratches on the left front bumper.
Saturday, May 4
Theft report: At 11:56 a.m., police received a report of a theft from a business on Pheasant Road.
Sunday, May 5
Arrest: At 2:45 a.m., after getting a report of a theft and assault at Riverview Apartments, police arrested Alex McKaughan, 24, of Peterborough, and charged him with simple assault. McKaughan was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a June 3 court date.
Disorderly person: At 2:33 p.m., a Temple resident reported a man yelled at him in Little Roy’s. Police spoke with a clerk in Little Roy’s who said the caller and another customer had been giving each other a hard time, and a third person had come to a woman’s defense. Police calmed the people and sent them on their way.
Unwanted person: At 7:15 p.m., a Colonial Square resident requested that a man be removed from her home. He agreed to leave.
