With the divisional track and field meets just two days away, athletes from the four local high schools are putting the final touches on their events in the hopes of a personal best time, distance or jump.

ConVal will make the trip to Pelham on Saturday for the Division II Championships, while Conant, Mascenic and Wilton-Lyndeborough travel to Inter-Lakes High School for the D-III meet. Both begin at 10 a.m.

Conant senior Katie Tonyai will look to repeat as the Division III champion in both the 100 and 200 meters. She is ranked first in each event — posting times of 12.1 in the 100 and 25.3 in the 200 — and is considered the favorite in both. Conant junior Shannia Aho also qualified for both.

ConVal senior Tom Hughes is going for his second straight title in the D-II discus and hopes to add an outdoor shot put win to his indoor championships this winter. Hughes ranks first in each event.

Mascenic senior Elizabeth McGurk and sophomore Tim Fafard lead the way in the D-III 3,200 meters. McGurk is seeded first with a time of 11:47.2 and Fafard’s run of 9:52.7 at Coe-Brown also places him first among the field. Freshman Avery Traffie will also run the boys 3,200.

Sophomore Jordan Litts is the lone Wilton-Lyndeborough athlete to qualify and is ranked ninth in the boys high jump after reaching a height of five feet, eight inches.

The ConVal throwing team will be well represented at the D-II meet. Senior Nawyn Meas and juniors Coty Cadorette and Kyle Murray will all join Hughes in the discus, while Cadorette and Murray also qualified for the shot put. Meas, who ranks fifth in the discus, will compete in the javelin as well. Megan Hardwick made it in the discus and Selina Baldwin qualified for the javelin.

Conant senior Erika Donovan will return to the D-III meet in three events. Donovan will try to improve upon her runner-up finish in the triple jump last year, along with the 100-meter hurdles and the pole vault. Senior Margaret Maloy will also compete in the pole vault.

Conant will bring a small contingent of throwers. Junior Justin Haase qualified in the shot put and javelin, while junior Eli Hodgson ranks fifth in the javelin. Brittany Rich made it in the girls discus as well. Conant senior Noah Miller will run in the 1,600.

Despite qualifying in four events, ConVal junior Riley Henry will concentrate on the 1,600, while Corey Barrett decided to focus on just the 200 even though he was ranked third in the 100.

For the ConVal girls, Haley Zanga will make her second straight trip in the 100 hurdles and Lara Matthias makes her debut in the 300 hurdles. Rowan Wilson will tackle the 1,600 and freshmen Grace Bowman and Teresa Morano both made it in the girls 400, while Daniel Kashulines qualified for the boys 400.
