Constitution reading at Bass Hall Sunday

A reading of the U.S. Constitution will be held in Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center for History & Culture on Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m.

This is a non-partisan event organized by Citizens For Open Government, a local study group dedicated to finding common ground and long-term trends by looking beyond divisive rhetoric and party affiliations.

The intention is that this reading will refresh our understanding, as citizens, of what our forbearers intended and what the Constitution actually says.

There also will be a gathering of local, natural and sustainability organizations — like a farmers market. This group recognizes a connection in spirit between the founding of our country and our local alternative economy.

All are encouraged to attend and participate. Anyone interested in participating or would like guidance in setting up a similar event in another community can contact Hope Taylor at 924-6267 or ehopetaylor@gmail.com or Eric Blackmer at 562-0900 or ericblackmer@gmail.com.
