Reading challenge starts July 1

Registration for the summer reading program, ‘“Dig into Reading,” at the G.E.P. Dodge Library has begun and will remain open through the program start date of July 1.

The program will run through Aug. 3 and patrons of all ages are welcome to participate.

There will be twice-weekly story hours, field trips, games, prizes, programs and workshops. Stop by the library to sign up and pick up a calendar of events.

For more information, call the library at 588-6585.

On July 9, between 4 and 6 p.m., the library will hold a self-guided Story Walk at the Bruce Edes Forest featuring “Little Skink’s Tail” by Janet Halfmann.

Parking for the event will be in the VFW Hall parking lot. The walk will be appropriate for very young children and is meant to help new readers and stimulate conversation about the natural settings of the Bruce Edes Forest.
