Rindge Police Log: June 20, 2013
Wednesday, June 12
Theft: At 3 p.m., police received a report from a Kimball Road resident about a possible theft of a 40-caliber pistol from his car, which was parked in the Walmart parking lot on Route 202 at the time. The vehicle was unlocked, according to police. The case is under investigation.
Saturday, June 15
Must appear: At 12:15 a.m., police responded to an unlawful burn at Woodmore Campground on Woodmore Drive. Kurt Weibel, 33, of Rindge was issued a must appear summons for possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana. He is scheduled to appear at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey on July 7.
Sunday, June 16
Accident: At 9:15 a.m., police responded to a single-car crash on Hampshire Road near the New Ipswich town line. Anna Ciglar, 44, of Rindge was driving a 2005 Subaru Legacy on Hampshire Road when she allegedly became distracted, swerved to miss a chipmunk and then struck a tree. Police said a branch of the tree went through the car’s windshield. The car was towed. There were no reported injuries.
Accident: At 10:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a car off the road on Route 119 near the Fitzwilliam town line. Maureen Lastih, 73, of Swanzey was driving a 2007 Subaru Outback on Route 119 when she allegedly felt dizzy and may have passed out, causing the car to drift off the road. There were no reported injuries.
