Tuesday, June 11

Untimely death: At 7:36 p.m., police responded to a residence on Goodnow Street at the request of someone who was concerned about the welfare of her friend. Police found Patricia Nutting, 58, of Jaffrey lying on the floor unconscious when they arrived. Nutting was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough and then to a Massachusetts’s hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances found at the scene.

Wednesday, June 12

Arrest: At 8:15 a.m., police made a motor vehicle stop for speed on Mountain Road. Sarah Buckley, 31, of Francestown was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana, in a motor vehicle. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a July 11 court date at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey.

Arrest: At 6:10 p.m., Elizabeth Sauer, 53, of Jaffrey turned herself into police on a warrant issued by Jaffrey Police Department for criminal trespass. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a July 11 court date. The warrant was issued as a result of an incident reported to police on April 26, when it was alleged that Sauer entered the garage of a residence on Howard Hill Road without permission.

Arrest: At 7:01 p.m., police responded to Laundry Road for a report of juveniles hanging out behind 40 Peterborough St. A 14-year-old Jaffrey resident was arrested and charged with possession of tobacco by a minor. He was released on a must appear summons with a July 11 court date. A 16-year-old Jaffrey resident was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana. A second 16-year-old and a 15-year-old, both Jaffrey residents, were also arrested and charged with possession of tobacco by minors and possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana. Police said juvenile petitions will be issued.

Thursday, June 13

Arrest: At 8:46 p.m., police responded to a residence on Mark Street for a report of man who was outside, allegedly yelling about getting inside. Russell Holden, 44, of Jaffrey was taken into protective custody due to his alleged intoxication and transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections for the overnight.

Friday, June 14

Arrest: At 5:30 p.m., while police were on patrol in the area of Webster Street, officers witnessed a vehicle pull into the parking lot behind Cliff’s Auto Body and Repair. After observing the vehicle for some time, police arrested and charged Andrew Broderick, 54, of Jaffrey with manufacturing a controlled drug, sale of a controlled drug and three counts of possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana and assorted pills. He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance with an Aug. 8 court date.

Saturday, June 15

Arrest: At 1:14 a.m., police responded to Stratton Road for a report of a man who was allegedly waiting at the rear of Lab’n Lager for the owner. Witnesses told police that the man was allegedly kicked out of the bar and planning to retaliate. Police located the suspect, Dustin Arehart, 26, of New Ipswich, exiting the Rails to Trails. Arehart was taken into protective custody due to alleged intoxication and later released to a friend.

Arrest: At 2:59 a.m., police made a motor vehicle stop for defective equipment on Mountain Road. The driver, Taylor Lacoss, 24, of Winchendon, Mass., was arrested and charged with DWI, subsequent offence, and operating after suspension. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a July 2 court date.

Arrest: At 2:50 p.m., police responded to a residence on Carriage Hill Road for a juvenile who was allegedly out of control. The 15-year-old Jaffrey resident was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana, and possession of tobacco by a minor. She was held at a youth detention center in Manchester to await arraignment at the 8th Circuit Court in Keene on Monday.

Sunday, June 16

Arrest: At 1:42 a.m., police made a motor vehicle stop for defective equipment on Peterborough Street. The driver, Matthew Zawistoski, 39, of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with DWI and operating after suspension. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a July 2 court date.

Monday, June 17

Accident: At 8 a.m., police responded to a two-car crash on Hillcrest Road. Sarah Thayer, 22, of Rindge, who was driving a 2000 Mercury Sable, allegedly pulled out of Hillcrest Road and onto Turnpike Road and then struck a 2010 Hyundai Veracruz, driven by Karen Lane, 51, of Jaffrey. Police said Lane was turning onto Hillcrest Road from Turnpike Road when the two cars collided. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. There were no reported injuries.

Must appear: At 11:50 a.m., Bradley White, 21, of Rindge turned himself into police on a warrant issued by the Jaffrey Police Department for negligent driving and failure to obey inspection requirements, in connection with a two-car crash on June 6 in Rindge. He was released on a must appear summons with July 11 court date.

Arrest: At 4:40 p.m., Dakota Rathburn, 19, of Jaffrey turned himself into police on a warrant issued by the Jaffrey Police Department for conduct after an accident. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a July 11 court date. The warrant was issued as a result of an incident on May 3 when it was alleged that Rathburn damaged a guardrail on River Street and did not report it to police.
