‘Say Goodnight, Gracie’ opens June 26
The Peterborough Players will open their 80th birthday season on June 26 with Rupert Holmes’ “Say Goodnight, Gracie.”
Joel Rooks, star of the show’s off-Broadway production and national tour, returns as George Burns in this one-man show, which runs through July 7.
George Burns achieved much in his century-long life: a rise from an impoverished childhood, a successful
entertainment career spanning more than 75 years, and a comedic partnership and storybook romance with the hilarious and lovely Gracie Allen.
“Say Goodnight, Gracie” finds George Burns at the end of his momentous life, stuck in limbo between this world and the next.
To reunite with his beloved Gracie, Burns must tap into all of his abilities to give the performance of his life for God.
Tickets are $39 on Saturdays and $37 for other performances.
Show times are Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m., Sundays at 4 p.m., and Tuesdays at 7 p.m., through July 7.
