Jaffrey Police Log: July 5, 2013
Wednesday, June 26
Arrest: At 6:30 a.m., Talon Facteau, 22, of Jaffrey was arrested by Jaffrey police on a warrant issued by the Juvenile Probation Department. He was held in lieu of $5,000 cash bail at the Cheshire County House of Corrections. Jaffrey charges for possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana, and receiving stolen property will be forthcoming, according to police.
Saturday, June 29
Arrest: At 1:21 a.m., police made a motor vehicle stop for speed and a yellow line violation on Mountain Road. The driver, Dale Abbott, 47, of Otter River, Mass., was arrested and charged with DWI. He was released on $2,000 personal recognizance with a July 11 court date at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey. He was placed into protective custody due to his alleged intoxication and transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections.
Accident: At 2:25 p.m., police responded to Coll’s Farm on Hadley Road for a report of a hit-and-run accident. A Fitzwilliam resident reported parking her 2009 Mercury Sable at Coll’s Farm at approximately 9 a.m. and returning five hours later to find minor to moderate damage to the vehicle’s driver’s side rear corner. The accident is under investigation.
Arrest: At 5:20 p.m., police made a motor vehicle stop on Blake Street. The driver, Dakota Rathburn, 19, of Jaffrey, was arrested and charged with operating after suspension of license and registration. Rathburn was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a July 11 court date.
Sunday, June 30
Arrest: At 8:00 p.m., police were flagged down by a passing motorist, who reported a possible intoxicated driver. Police were able to locate the vehicle a few cars away and made an attempt to pull it over, but the car failed to stop. Police pursued the vehicle through the five-way intersection downtown and ultimately pulled it over near Goodnow Street. The driver, Stephanie Niemela, 45, of Jaffrey, was arrested and charged with DWI and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a July 11 court date.
