Night of 1,000 cupcakes July 18

The 8th Annual Night of 1,000 Cupcakes is planned for July 18, from 5:30 p.m. to dusk, at the Jaffrey Civic Center.

Three award-winning cupcake designers will be the celebrity judges: Aprill Ferrell of Aprilla Cakes in Casco, Maine; Tracy Keating of Life is Sweet in Keene; and former Peterborough resident Neely Cohen of Central Kitchen in Cambridge, Mass., and the Food Network’s Sweet Genius winner.

The event is free and open to the public, and take place on the center’s lawn. Live music will be provided by the bluegrass band Hot Mustard. Face painting, t-shirts and refreshments will be available.

Awards will be given in a variety of creative categories, and a raffle of cupcake creations will be held.

On display inside the center will be the Monadnock Area Artists Association Juried Show.

Cupcake designers should call the center to get permission to bring entries.

Cupcakes for judging should be delivered by 4 p.m. Cupcakes for eating only should be delivered by 5 p.m.
