Time to consider voucher system
To the editor:
As much as I would love for the ConVal School District’s Local Government Center refund to be given back to the community, I find it highly unlikely. They have continually flushed every cent down the toilet for unnecessary things over the past few years and even had the nerve to ask for more amid the last recession.
Student enrollment has declined, comparative test scores have continued to fall but the school district’s budget has ballooned to outrageous levels with uncontested mismanagement of existing funds.
The entire public school system has turned into a scam. The people of New Hampshire should not only get their money back for the refund but we should seriously consider a voucher system. Competition would create a fair playing field and lower cost. Then we could see how fast the public system would get their act together and quit robbing the community through the guise of “education.”
