Sharon Arts’ Paint Out this week
The Sharon Arts Center, a division of the New Hampshire Institute of Art, is holding its 8th annual plein air “Paint Out” this week in and around the Monadnock region.
Participating artists will set up outdoors (plein air) to capture the beauty that is found throughout the Monadnock region, featuring farms, barns and CSAs, community supported agriculture food cooperatives.
More than 15 artists will participate, including Ann Sawyer of Jaffrey, Mary Iselin of Marlborough, Judith Prager of New Ipswich, Ken Fiery of Nashua, and Jeannette Atkinson of Harrisville.
“The Paint Out has now become a tradition at Sharon Arts,” said Gallery Director Camellia Sousa. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for artists to spend time with other artists in a particular location painting, drawing, and creating works of art inspired by the scenery around us. I think it’s such a popular event because of the sense of community fostered by spending a week working together outdoors. The continued support by the community truly makes this a more exciting event each year.”
The week will culminate with a reception and sale in the Common House at Nubanusit Neighborhood and Farm on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.sharonarts.org.
