CVTC hosts trip to N.H. Highland Games
The Contoocook Valley Transportation Company is taking reservations for a day trip to the 38th Annual New Hampshire Highland Games and Festival at Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln. The Scottish festival, which is the largest cultural festival in the state, takes place on Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The festival includes traditional music, competitions in highland dance, piping, drumming, ethnic food and merchandise. Special events include the International Gathering of Drum Majors and the World Heavy Event Championships.
The 31-passenger coach bus will stop at two locations to pick up and drop off riders: Thomas Transportation in Swanzey at 7:15 a.m. and at Peterborough Plaza, at 7:45 a.m. The bus will arrive at the festival around 10 a.m. and will have on-site parking. The bus will depart at 5:00 p.m. The cost of the trip is $66 for adults 15 years and older and $37 for children. The cost covers a round-trip ticket and event admission.
