The first annual ConVal Community Dollars For Scholars Tennis Tournament held last weekend raised over $5,000.

All the proceeds will go to the ConVal Dollars For Scholars Scholarship Fund, which began in 2006 and awards two-year scholarships to a male and female graduate from ConVal High School each year.

The tournament was broken up into six doubles divisions with 50 teams participating.

Bobbie Nyland and Paul Hausmann defeated Tracey Bean & Ed Surprenant, 7-6, 6-3, in the Mixed A bracket. Chris Bourasa and Andy Gould won the Mixed B, 6-4, 6-2. Sigmund Winiecki and Dave Delworth captured the Senior/Junior division, 6-2, 6-3.

Patrick Foley and Josh Houle won the Men’s A, 6-2 6-3. In the Women’s A, Bean and Lisa Caulton defeated Dalia Paradie and Lisa Linder, 6-3, 7-6, while Cher Barker and Barb Zullo won the Women’s B.
