WLC earns sweep of Mascenic

The Wilton-Lyndeborough boys soccer team picked up a season sweep of Mascenic with a 2-1 victory on Tuesday.

It was the Warriors’ seventh straight win and second one-goal victory over the Vikings in that stretch.

Junior Jordan Litts gave WLC a 1-0 lead with an unassisted first half tally, but before the break, Mascenic’s Connor Hein tied the game off a pass from Jared Nolan.

Within the first two minutes of the second half, senior James Edmunds scored the eventual game-winner, as WLC improved to 7-1 overall. The loss dropped Mascenic to 1-6.

The first meeting on Sept. 11 resulted in a 1-0 victory for the Warriors. It was WLC’s fourth one-goal win of the season.

WLC returns to action on Monday when it hosts Derryfield. Mascenic plays at home today against Kearsarge before traveling to Conant on Saturday for the Orioles’ homecoming.
