Jaffrey police logs: Sept. 26, 2013
Wednesday, Sept. 18
Suspicious activity: At 4:15 p.m., police received a report of suspicious activity at a Peterborough Street business. A woman was standing in front of the business holding a homemade sign requesting donations for an anti-bullying fund. Officers spoke with the 17-year-old Jaffrey resident, who stated it was a school-related fundraiser, but that it was only she and her friends that were doing it. She did not collect any money at the time and did not have a permit. She advised police she would not do that again.
Thursday, Sept. 19
Noise complaint: 8:15 p.m., Police received a report of people being loud and loitering, and possibly intoxicated at a Peterborough Street business. When police arrived, the group had left and was no longer in the area.
Friday, Sept. 20
Protective custody: 2:33 a.m., police responded to a Stratton Road business to assist with an intoxicated subject who needed a ride home. James Brady, 23, of Rindge was unable to obtain a ride and was transported to the station under protective custody and was later transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections.
Summons: At 2:45 p.m., officers made a motor vehicle stop for several violations on Main Street near Charlonne Street. The operator, John Daniels, 34, of Jaffrey was issued a must appear summons at Oct. 3 at the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey, for an uninspected motor vehicle, failure to display front plate, height of motor vehicle body, and flaps, guards or fenders required. The vehicle, a 2001 Dodge pickup, was towed.
Motor vehicle accident: At 8:05 p.m., police responded to River Street for a motor vehicle accident. Matthew Letorneau, 25 of Jaffrey, while driving a 2012 Ford F150 pickup, hit a deer near the reservoir bridge on River Street. The damage was limited to driver’s side corner and bumper, which were dented. The deer had left the scene and was unable to be located.
Arrest: At 9:38 p.m., police made a motor vehicle stop on Plantation Drive. Officers located alcohol in the back seat of the vehicle, which was being operated by Santos Sola, 20, of Jaffrey. Sola was arrested for transportation of alcohol. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and issued a court date of Nov. 7 at the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey. Her two passengers, a 15-year-old Rindge resident and a 15-year-old Concord resident, were taken into protective custody and later released to a parent.
Arrest: At 11 p.m., police responded to a Stratton Road residence for a report of a man who was allegedly intoxicated and attempting to leave the residence in his vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located two men, outside on Bleak Street. Steven Salera, 50, of Temple was ultimately taken into protective custody due to intoxication, and charged with resisting arrest. He was transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections in protective custody and issued a summons for resisting arrest on Nov. 7 at the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.
Saturday, Sept 21
Arrest: At 6 p.m., officers made a motor vehicle stop on Turnpike Road, near Fitzgerald Road, and found the driver, Corina Collier, 23, of Jaffrey, had two active warrants for her arrest. One, issued by the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey court for non-appearance in court, and the other by District Court, Concord for non-payment of fines. She was processed and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail for the Jaffrey warrant, and $1,000 for the Concord warrant. She was issued a Nov. 7 court date at the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey, and an Oct. 27 court date at the District Court, Concord.
Monday, Sept. 23
Theft: At 4:25 p.m., a River Street resident reported that her Craftsman lawn mower was stolen at some point between Sept. 16 and Sept. 18. She left the mower on her lawn on Sept. 16 after mowing, planning to complete the job at a later time. The case is currently under investigation.
