Rindge police logs: Sept. 26, 2013
Tuesday, Sept. 17
Theft: At 6:45 a.m., police took a report of a theft from a construction vehicle on Route 202, of an exhaust pipe from one of the pieces of equipment. The theft is under investigation.
Motor vehicle accident: At 8 a.m., Sara Belletete, 37, of Jaffrey was driving 2012 Chevy Suburban on Route 119 East, when she was struck from behind by Joshua Steere, 18, of Rindge, while he was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup. The two exchanged information. There were no injuries, and both vehicle sustained minor damage.
Arrest: At 5:15 p.m., police responded to WalMart for a report of a shoplifter. Police issued a must-appear summons at the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey, on Nov. 7 for willful concealment to Katey Young, 24, of Fitzwilliam, who had allegedly attempted to shoplift three shirts and three boxes of over-the-counter medication.
Motor vehicle accident: At 7:45 p.m., a 16-year-old Rindge resident reported that he struck a deer on Lord Brook Road. His vehicle was driveable and he was not injured. He will be filing a report with the state.
Wednesday, Sept. 18
Protective custody: At 4 p.m., police responded to 18 Sharon Place for a welfare check of a possible suicidal person. Police placed Joseph Sauvageau, 51, of Rindge into protective custody for intoxication and transported him to Cheshire County House of Corrections.
Thursday, Sept. 19
Arrest: At 5:22 p.m., police responded to WalMart for a report of a shoplifter. Police arrested April Happy, 22, of Troy and charged her with willful concealment for allegedly taking $60 worth of makeup. Happy allegedly left the store with the merchandise. She was stopped by Fitzwilliam police in Fitzwilliam. Rindge police responded to the scene. Happy allegedly reported that she had originally concealed the items, but had then placed them back at random points in the store. Police searched Happy’s person and vehicle but did not find the items. She was released with a must-appear summons to appear at the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey on Nov. 6.
Friday, Sept. 20
Arrest: At 12:35 p.m. John Miller, 38, of Manchester, turned himself in to police on an arrest warrant for a charge of criminal mischief related to an event that occurred on Sept. 2.
Sunday, Sept. 21
Arrest: At 1:55 p.m., Gail McCarthy, 45, of Rindge, turned herself in on an arrest warrant for willful concealment, relating to Aug. 13 incident at WalMart. She was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and issued a Nov. 6 court date at the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.
Monday, Sept. 22
Arrest: At 4:50 p.m., police responded to WalMart for a report of a shoplifter. Police arrested Christy Bergeron, 45, of Troy, and charged her with willful concealment. Bergeron allegedly shoplifted vehicle place mats and three articles of clothing totaling $26. She was additionally charged with criminal trespass, as she had been previously banned from the WalMart premises. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and issued a court date Nov. 6 at the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.
