The Grand Slambovians will be presenting a concert at the Peterborough Players theater on Friday at 8 p.m.

The band, formerly known as Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus of Dreams, have been called “the hillbilly Pink Floyd.”

Elements of the Incredible String Band, Neil Young, The Band, Bob Dylan, and maybe even some Frank Zappa contribute to their quirky Americana style.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $23 the day of the concert. They may be purchased at the Toadstool Bookshop in Peterborough, Keene and Milford or at Ticketstage.com. Only cash or checks are accepted at the box office.

This concert is presented by the Peterborough Folk Music Society, and is the first of its 2013-2014 season. For more information, visit www.pfmsconcerts.org or call 827-2905.
