A growing crisis  of food donations

To the editor:

As cold weather approaches, the Jaffrey Food Pantry, like many other non-profits in our area dedicated to feeding hungry families, faces an ongoing struggle of increased needs and diminishing resources. I seek your help in getting the word out to various groups that we need their support – hopefully churches will post this note in weekly bulletins and civic groups will sensitize members to the growing crisis.

The New Hampshire Food Bank estimates that the impact of 12 grocery stores closing in the state will result in a loss of 1 million pounds of donated food, equalling 600,000 meals. As always, your cash contributions along with the items listed below will help.
