Photo tour safari of Africa at the library
Hank Huber will give a photo tour of Tanzania to the Roof of Africa on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Hancock Library.
The six-day tour went through six climatic zones from the jungle environment of the 6,000-foot elevation trailhead to the fabled snows of Mount Kilimanjaro’s summit at 19,340 feet.
Huber’s group experienced the valley of the weird plants, ascent of the Baranco Wall and views of the melting glaciers. The climb was capped off by a four-day wildlife safari through the Serengeti Plains and the Ngorongoro Crater to view large numbers of lions, leopards, thousands of zebras, rhinos and elephants.
Huber is a long time resident of Hancock and is an avid mountain climber and biker. He has climbed several of the highest mountains in the lower 48 states.
This program is free and open to all.
