ConVal hosts Hollis-Brookline
ConVal (0-7) hosts Hollis-Brookline (1-6) Friday night at 7 p.m. The Cougars have been working hard in practice over the last few weeks to implement their new pass-heavy spread offense, and head coach Ryan McCartney said that all that work will pay off if the Cougar players have a little faith.
“When you were a kid,” McCartney said, “and your parents told you ‘You have to be good for Santa, Santa’s coming,’ we didn’t have to see Santa, we just knew he was coming. Same thing with us. We just have to believe. We haven’t won, we haven’t played very well, but that doesn’t matter. If we work, if we stay positive about ourselves, it’s going to happen.”
Hollis-Brookline features the dual rushing attack of running back Matt Ferenczhalmy and quarterback Austin Pigott. The Cavaliers recently won their first game of the season, a 35-0 victory over Kearsarge on Oct. 12.
Look for ConVal receivers Liam Baldwin, Brandon Carland and Mike Palazolla to get a healthy dose of targets as QB John Crowley airs it out.
