Firefighters hold raffle for grocery gift card
Jaffrey and Rindge firefighters’ associations are holding a raffle for a $500 Hannaford’s grocery gift card. The money raised from the raffle will be used to purchase fire and rescue equipment to benefit the communities. This year’s raffle is also designed to further assist the communities by giving a free extra raffle ticket to purchasers who also donate at least one canned good for the Jaffrey and Rindge food banks.
The Rindge Hannaford grocery store is donating the gift card. Hannaford participates in and donates to groups that help the hungry, promote health and wellness, and provide an overall community benefit, says Rindge Store Manager Andy Harris.
“It’s an opportunity to serve the community and at the same time help feed people,” Harris says. “That’s a win-win.”
The tickets are being sold for $2; 3 for $5; or 7 for $10. Tickets are on sale now. Volunteers are selling them outside various stores in the communities, and they can also be purchased at the Rindge Hannaford store service counter.
