Variety performance to benefit local man

Branch River Theatre will present “Way Off Broadway,” a variety show as a very special fundraising event to benefit David Hudgik.

This show brings together the talents of many performers who have been ‘playing around’ with Branch River Theatre for many years to support a local young man, David Hudgik, who suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury in September 2011.

When the call went out to BRT peers, the response was overwhelming. Knowing that 10 percent of all the proceeds generated by performances of Way Off Broadway would go to Hudgik and his family made the event very personal to many people involved.

Many of the folks in the show know David or know of David, because of his connection with one of the directors of this show — Jeff Repko.

Aside from various vocalists, there will be some improv, skits, baton twirling and a special appearance from people we like to call The Blue Shirt Group.

Performances will be Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Community House of Marlborough.

Tickets are $!5. To reserve, call 283-7538, email to emailtickets@branchrivertheatre.com, or visit www.branchrivertheatre.com.
