Crotched may open as soon as Saturday
FRANCESTOWN — Crotched Mountain Ski and Ride began making snow last week and is close to announcing an opening date despite lingering uncertainty about the status of its lights.
Crotched Mountain’s General Manager Pat Terry said they are looking at potentially opening Saturday, but will make the official decision by Monday evening.
“It depends on the weather but we’re in really good shape to open,” Terry said.
Terry said when a decision is made, the opening date will be posted on their website.
Tonight, the Francestown Zoning Board will host its fifth meeting regarding Crotched Mountain’s request for a variance for the light put up during the 2012 expansion.
Terry has said in previous interviews that complying with the town’s requests may have to wait until after this ski season. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Francestown Town Offices, lower level.
