Garden Club visitor award-winning designer

The Peterborough Garden Club hosted Maureen Christmas on Nov. 18 to a full house of members and guest from the Monadnock area. Christmas is an award-winning floral designer who has her own business, Floral Notes, in Acton, Mass., specializing in flowers for weddings and corporate events. She created seven arrangements. The first was a hostess gift bouquet. She then created an arrangement for the holiday buffet table, a wreath for the front door and a front-hall arrangement. She made her own version of the well-known cornucopia, a Christmas topiary and her grand finale: an orange New Year’s martini centerpiece. Here, Sue Groff of Peterborough, left, and Holly Macy of Sharon pose for a photo at the event. The Peterborough Garden Club will meet again on March 10, 2014, for a Terrarium Building workshop with Kathy Forrest of Peterborough. The club will welcome new guests; visitors are encouraged to attend.
