Conant to play game for charity

The defending DIII champion Conant Orioles boys basketball team will have one more chance to warm up for the regular season when they take on Manchester Central Saturday. The game is part of the Coaches for a Cause Jamboree; the $5 admission goes to benefit New Horizons For New Hampshire, a Manchester-based charity that runs a soup kitchen, food pantry, homeless shelter and womens’ shelter.

“I thought it was a great idea for a great cause,” said head coach Eric Saucier. “We always want to challenge ourselves, so why not play against the best when you have the chance?”

Manchester Central is a Division I program. The Orioles face off against the Little Green at 4:30 Saturday at Alvirne High School in Hudson. For more information, call 668-1877.
