Springfields stuff stat sheets
The so-called “first family of Conant basketball” had a good few days on the court recently. Even though the Springfields are spread out across New England these days, they’re still doing their hometown proud by carrying on their basketball tradition.
First off, Devin Springfield played his first official game at Marianapolis Prep, where he is enrolled as a postgraduate. He scored 10 points in the Golden Knights 66-62 loss to Hoosac.
Next up, Brooke Springfield, a junior at Southern New Hampshire University, matched her career-high with 18 points as she lead the Penmen past the Franklin Pierce Ravens on Wednesday. Springfield also had six assists in SNHU’s 76-61 victory. She’s averaging 7.6 points and 4.3 assists per game this season. She’s Conant’s all-time leading scorer.
Finally, Madison Springfield made her much-awaited debut for Marianapolis, and she did not disappoint. Springfield stuffed the stat sheet for the Golden Knights, racking up 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals on the way to a 59-46 victory over Worcester Academy.
