JAFFREY — A one-car accident on Mountain Road early Monday morning left a car straddled across a rock wall, but the driver escaped serious injury.

Joann Baxter, 50, of Troy was traveling eastbound on Mountain Road in her 2000 Chevy Voyager, when police say she hit a patch of ice and went off the side of the roadway.

Jaffrey officers arrived to find the Voyager suspended on some large boulders on the eastbound side of the road, with Baxter trapped on the passenger side floor.

When police freed Baxter from her vehicle, she was complaining of pain in her right shoulder, though according to the police report, Baxter ultimately refused transport to an area hospital.

According to police, Baxter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the airbags did not deploy. Baxter had no passengers in the car.

The Voyager suffered heavy damage as a result of the accident and was towed from the scene.

Police said the roadway was slippery at the time of the accident, and no charges are pending.
