Friday, July 18
Found dog: At 11:20 a.m., a resident reported finding a small brown and white male dog on Timbertop Road, wearing a blue collar with no tags. Police took custody of the dog at 7:32 p.m. At 9:21 p.m., the dog’s owner contacted police after someone saw a photo of the dog posted on the police department Facebook page. Police issued a warning to the owner for an unlicensed dog allowed to run at-large and returned the animal.
Saturday, July 19
Manner of operation complaint: At 8:30 p.m., following a manner of operation complaint by a resident, police tracked down the driver of the vehicle, who admitted to passing a vehicle on Temple Road between Vanguard and the playground. Investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, July 20
Lost property: At 8:32 a.m., a resident reported a trophy on the side of the road that was possibly mislaid property. Police collected and inspected the trophy, which was a bowling trophy with a name on it. Police could not locate anyone with that name in the in-house database.
Tuesday, July 22
Arrest: At 8:47 a.m., police were called to Mason Road for a report of a couple in a domestic dispute. A woman had run out of the apartment saying the man was abusing her. While en route, dispatch notified police that the man had called police and informed them the woman had punched him in the face. When police investigated the incident, they allegedly found the woman to be the primary aggressor and arrested Penny Chisholm, 23, of Nashua and charged her with domestic violence, simple assault. Chisholm was transported to the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey, where she was released on $5,000 personal recognizance and issued a court date of Sept. 2. Chisholm was then given a courtesy ride back to New Ipswich and allowed to use the Police Department’s phone to arrange for a ride. Chisholm allegedly assaulted the police administrative assistant by pushing her computer screen on top of her; police arrested Chisholm and charged her with assault. Police requested additional units to assist with Chisholm’s processing. Chisholm was transported to Valley Street Jail and held in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
