Saturday, April 20
Arrest: At 9:30 p.m., police received a complaint about a black Toyota Corolla traveling on Route 202. Police located the vehicle at West of the Border on Route 202 and arrested and charged the driver, Nathan Kaarto, 30, of Rindge, with DWI. Kaarto was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a May 1 court date at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey.
Sunday, April 21
Arrest: At 1:45 a.m., police responded to Franklin Pierce University for an odor investigation. While on campus, police observed a group of students outside the Mountain View dorms. Christina Watson, 18, of Westfield, Mass., Timothy Norton, 18, of Berlin, Conn., and Sherra Dowling, 18, of Leominster, Mass., were each arrested and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol. Each was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a May 8 court date. Two intoxicated 15-year-olds were taken into protective custody and released to their parents.
Arrest: At 8 a.m., after a traffic stop for alleged speeding on Route 119, police arrested William Brooks, 28, of Pepperell, Mass., and charged him with operating after suspension. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a June 5 court date.
Arrest: At 6 p.m., police took a report from Hannaford of a shoplifter. The suspect had allegedly fled the store into a nearby marsh and then took off toward Walmart, according to police. After a foot pursuit, police arrested and charged David Chicoine, 29, of Winchendon, Mass., with theft, possession of a controlled drug believed to be a narcotic and resisting arrest. He was released on $750 personal recognizance with a June 5 court date.
