Man jailed for sex crimes

KEENE — A Jaffrey man will serve up to 15 years in N.H. State Prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a boy under the age of 13 in Jaffrey in 2010, according to Cheshire County Superior Court documents.

Jeremy Surrell, 34, plead guilty to two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and was sentenced on May 31 to 7½ to 15 years in prison, with a second sentence of 10 to 20 years suspended, pending good behavior. According to court documents, the time suspended could be imposed if Surrell faces any further criminal trouble in his lifetime. He was credited with 202 days time served.

Surrell was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors, to register as a sex offender and to seek counseling.

In May 2011, Surrell was indicted on four counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault. Two of those charges were later dismissed by prosecutors.
