Family finds man dead in woods at rest stop
ANTRIM — A family stopped at a rest stop on Concord Street on Oct. 12 discovered a body in the woods, Antrim Police said.
According to police reports, the motorist said the man looked unconscious, however, police confirmed Monday that the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an interview Wednesday with the responding officer, Ryan Storro, the man was later identified as Yvan Duval, 62, of Troy. Storro said the Antrim Paramedic Rescue performed CPR on Duval but were unsuccessful. Storro said after speaking with medical examiners, who are still not sure of the exact cause of death, it is believed Duval died of a heart-related issue.
Storro said Duval’s body was found about 50 yards from the parking lot at the rest area. He was able to identify a parked vehicle at the rest area as Duval’s.
Storro said he assumes went out for a walk to stretch his legs during a drive. It is believed Duval was found shortly after collapsing.
