Woman trapped after crash

A Hancock woman was hospitalized Tuesday after her car went off Stoddard Road and hit a tree.

According to Hancock Police Chief Andrew Wood, Anna Hecht, 30, of Hancock was driving a 2001 Subaru Forester westbound on Stoddard Road at about 10:19 a.m. when the car crossed over the eastbound lane and hit a tree. Hecht was trapped in the car, Wood said, and emergency crews used Jaws of Life equipment brought to the scene by Stoddard Fire and Rescue to remove her. Hecht was taken by ambulance to Monadncock Community Hospital and later transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. Wood said she was listed in serious condition on Tuesday, according to family members.

Wood said the damaged car was impounded and the accident is under investigation. Hancock Fire and Rescue workers, police from Hancock, Stoddard and Greenfield and a Peterborough Ambulance crew also responded to the accident.
