Jaffrey Police Log: March 14, 2013
Wednesday, March 6
Vandalism: At 6:30 a.m., police received a report from a Main Street resident that his car tires were slashed in the parking lot outside his residence sometime during the night. The case is under investigation.
Thursday, March 7
Must appear: At 7:34 a.m., police made a motor vehicle stop on Peterborough Street for an uninspected 1999 Chevy Silverado. Justin Hakey, 25, of Jaffrey was issued a ticket for the offense and a must appear summons, charging him with disorderly conduct. Police said they observed Hakey fishtail out of a parking lot on Peterborough Street. Hakey is scheduled to appear at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey on April 4.
Friday, March 8
Accident: At 4:23 p.m., police took a report of a two-car crash on Sherwood Lane. George Xenakis, 23, of Jaffrey said he was driving on Sherwood Lane just before 1 p.m. when his 2006 Dodge pickup was struck by an unidentified vehicle driven by Cooper Gordon, 20, of Jaffrey, who was backing out of his driveway. Xenakis told police that his car sustained damage to the front bumper, hood and passenger’s side headlight. There were no reported injuries.
Saturday, March 9
Must appear: At 8:56 a.m., Jaffrey police were requested by Marlborough police to check the area of Mountain Road for a pickup truck that was seen outside a Marlborough store, where a BB gun was reportedly stolen. Jaffrey police were able to locate the vehicle on Mountain Road and arrested its driver, Jeremi Ham, 27, of Jaffrey. Ham was issued a must appear summons for receiving stolen property and the evidence in the car was seized, according to police. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey on April 4.
Sunday, March 10
Arrest: At 12:15 a.m., police made a motor vehicle stop on Stratton Road. The driver, Jacob Nguyen, 25, of Melrose, Mass., was arrested and charged with operating with a suspended registration and possession of a controlled drug believed to be marijuana. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance with an April 4 court date.
